The Pan Man
by Loretta Wheeler
It's Summertime...Beach time...Carnival time
And for Christy
Pan's time...
The carnival arrives at the beach every summer, bringing with it the sounds, the lights, the music, and the mystery only a carnival can impart. But this year, it's brought something more, this year something out of Greek mythology has traveled with it, in search of a long-lost love.
"The Pan Man" is a young adult, paranormal short story. It first resided on the LASR website after having received an honorable mention in a contest hosted by them. It was a step away from my typical genre, so receiving an honorable mention for the story was very delightful for me. This version is expanded, and therefore reads as a new story.
The gypsy, Larue Dubois, makes her first appearance in "The Pan Man". She will emerge again in the novella, "The Image" due for release in the winter of 2011.
The Pan Man is available on Amazon & Barnes & Noble

In 2008 I entered the LASR annual contest for YA with a HEA ending. This was definitely a step away from my typical genre'. I'm a thriller gal, and so HEA endings and the focus being primarily on the two love interests is not my forte'. I was very pleased and flattered when I learned I had received an Honorary Mention in the contest, along with a couple of very complimentary reviews.
My sincere appreciation is extended to LASR for allowing my piece through the Romance gates.
The Pan Man can be viewed here - LASR site. And is housed in the archived section.

"That was a cool intro..love the name Pan-demonium and the way they connected..and how he drew her attention with the guitar riff…and, well, it was an exciting way to meet."
"Very, very good use of detail to paint a picture with words. I very much enjoyed this author’s voice, and would look forward to reading more of her work."
